Jasiri one of the AGGP’s main programs invests in, nurtures and empower entrepreneurs who benefit society and attack poverty through the creation of High Impact new businesses creating new markets on the African continent. Jasiri offers a One-year ​Talent InvestorProgram and an Accelerator program for high potential individuals who display entrepreneurial intention-, maturity, and competencies to form part of a community of high impact responsible entrepreneurs. In the Jasiri Talent Investor, Jasiri Fellows are funded and guided through a process of team formation, idea generation, business validation and market entry. We are looking for a stellar Recruitment Officer ​to support this work.

 

About the Position
The Recruitment Officer will develop creative sourcing techniques, implement recruitment strategies and provide a qualified candidate pool for Jasiri. This role requires people skills, project management and recruiting experience to meet Jasiri selection goals.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Talent Investor Program

Source high caliber candidates, ensuring  the program attracts the right people,  hence meeting the ideal profile requirements, through the entrepreneurship ecosystem, higher learning institutions, recruitment agencies, diaspora networks, etc.

  • Research and recommend the appropriate channels for recruitment, such as agencies, job boards, social media etc. and all, within the recruitment budget.
  • Develop and implement creative sourcing techniques and strategies to expand the talent pool.
  • Provide feedback and make recommendations on strategy and initiatives on pipeline building, aiming at strengthening the quality of candidates in Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Recruitment & Selection Manager,  Program Lead and Entrepreneurship Community Manager to enhance and manage relationships with key stakeholders such as government.
  • Build deep relationships with potential candidates, understanding their motivations for applying, clarifying questions/grey areas and guiding them throughout the entire application and selection process.
  • Build relationships and engage with Jasiri Fellows, leveraging their important voices and networks as ambassadors of the Jasiri Talent Investor program.
  • Implement effective operational and logistical activities related to the recruitment, selection activities and events.
  • Conduct virtual & in-person information sessions in our country of operations and attend events and networking opportunities to make presentations about Jasiri programs that would contribute to enhancing the quality of applicants in the pipeline.
  • Provide timely reports to the Recruitment & Selection manager and the program team.

 

Other duties
  • Perform any administrative tasks as required in this role.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

 

Qualifications, Attributes & Experience

Experience

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in recruitment or headhunting.
  • Experience running online recruitment campaigns leveraging platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • Experience working with psychometric tests is an added advantage.
  • Understanding and interest in entrepreneurship to be able to inspire and understand the mindsets and competencies required for the recruitment of Jasiri candidates.

 

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a field relevant to the role.

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. – — Strong ability to present Jasiri information in both large groups and in one-on-one conversations.

 

Planning & Organizations Skills:

  • Excellent organization skills with time management and attention to detail.

 

People skills:

  • Team player with excellent relationship management skills. — Confident in managing conflict, airing concerns, and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
  • Ability to engage with Jasiri Fellows.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with productivity and project management tools such as Microsoft Office and/or Asana, with the aptitude to learn new software and systems quickly.

 

Social media management:

  • Strong interest and ability to leverage social media to run campaigns, events and other related activities.

 

Critical thinking & Problem Solving:

  • The ability to reason analytically and successfully manage multiple projects are required.
  • Problem solver, forward thinker with a proactive mindset.

  • The ability to develop knowledge and technical expertise in the field of assessment.
